Progress Energy Florida, Lakewood High School and the Florida Department Environmental Protection (DEP) have unveiled a new photovoltaic (PV) project at the Pinellas County school.

The project is part of the SunSmart schools program, a statewide initiative to install 29 solar electric systems in schools throughout the state. The program combines state funding with private partnership to provide clean energy and science education, and provides secondary school students with tools to study photovoltaic systems with a curriculum administered by the Florida Solar Education Center ...
