Europe's leading truck producers such as DaimlerChrysler and Volvo are planning to launch new environmentally friendly heavy-duty vehicles with lower NOx emissions before the end of 2004. This is well ahead of the October 2005 implementation of Euro IV legislation that specifies tight new emission standards.
