Adolescents with conduct disorder (CD) and substance use disorders (SUD) have higher rates of comorbid attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) than adolescents who do not have CD and are not involved in substance use (Crowley and Riggs, 1995; Thompson et al., 1996). In addition, adolescents with ADHD and comorbid CD/SUD may have a worse prognosis and a more virulent illness than those without CD/SUD (Crowley and Riggs, 1995; Moffitt, 1993; Moffitt and Silva, 1988; Thompson et al., 1996).
