Clemson seminars focus on color management
Label & Narrow Web, March, 2006
Clemson University's Department of Graphic Communications will conduct two of its most popular symposia concerning the management of color in the coming months. Both 2.5-day programs will link industry experts and innovators with university faculty to provide a blend of lecture, discussion and hands-on training. The schedule includes:
The Flexographic Process Printing Symposium will be held March 29-31. Participants will learn the steps to optimize, characterize, measure, and manage flexo color printing from proof to print using the proven techniques of process control. Breakout sessions teach best practices for densitometers, spectrophotometers, documentation, and press side color evaluations.
The Color Measurement and Managment Symposium, scheduled for April 19-21, features real pressroom lab sessions. Participants will learn workflow for color reproduction, calibration and use of color measurement devices, techniques for profiling proofing systems and press capabilities, and the application of these tools and techniques to ensure consistent and repeatable color reproduction. All processes will be considered including flexo, offset, gravure, screen, and digital printing. This training is appropriate for anyone involved in the color reproduction process requiring improvements from proof to press.
