SpectorSoft (561/770-5670, www.spectorsoft.com) introduced its Spector utility as a tool aimed at helping parents monitor their kids' activity on the family computer. But soon, adults were turning to Spector to confirm suspicions about a partner's cheatin' heart. Once a Windows-only program, Spector--which crouches silently on a hard drive, taking snapshots of on-screen activity for later playback--now lets anyone running Mac OS 8 or later (SpectorSoft is developing a version for OS X) spy on anyone who happens to be using the computer.
