Astronomy widgets.
Macworld, September, 2006 by McFarland, Scholle Sawyer
People may debate whether Tiger's Dashboard is useful, but as an outer-space enthusiast I'm delighted to be able to feed my obsession with some free widgets. From solar flares to supernovas, haym37 Software's Astronomy Picture of the Day (macworld.com/1484) reveals a gorgeous photo from NASA every morning. Bill Dunford's Riding with Robots Widget (macworld.com/1485) tracks photos sent from 16 robotic space probes exploring our solar system. And Texas A & M Astronomical Observatory's Sunlit Moon (macworld.com/1486) lets me follow the phases of the moon.
