All 5G and nano iPods can record CD-quality (16-bit, 44.1kHz, stereo) audio, given the proper dock-connector add-on. Unfortunately, until recently those accessories were limited to small microphones with limited functionality--great for recording interviews and voice memos, but incapable of taking advantage of the iPod's true abilities. Belkin's upcoming $180 TuneStudio, which will be available this summer, changes things. It offers a four-track mixing station, complete with powered-XLR, 1/4-inch, and RCA inputs, as well as EQ, level, and pan controls for each channel. Dock your iPod in the TuneStudio's cradle, and you can record your live performance in all its high-quality glory directly to your iPod.
