It seems that everyone has a blog these days. The number of blogs has grown from fewer than 1 million worldwide in 1999 to more than 63 million today. But research firm Gartner shocked the blogosphere recently by predicting that the number of blogs would peak during the first half of 2007, at about 100 million. In fact, Gartner estimates that there are already about 200 million ex-bloggers who no longer operate sites. One thing appears certain, however--the number of people who read blogs continues to grow.
