Ford plans halt in Thunderbird production.(MANUFACTURING NEWS)
Production Technology News, May, 2005
With sales falling, Ford has decided again to stop production on the Thunderbird after the current model year. The two-seater roadster model was brought back in 2002 to good reviews for the reintroduction, but somewhat of a sales disappointment for Ford. According to the manufacturer, this is not the end of the famous Thunderbird nameplate, which will be returned to its "future-product vault." The company has said it will now focus on its new Mustang sports car, a convertible version of which was recently introduced.
