UGS grants $1 billion to help south rebuild.(INDUSTRY UPDATE)
Production Technology News, September, 2006
UGS Corp., a global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services has announced in-kind software grants to 50 colleges and universities in the five states directly impacted by last year's Hurricane Katrina and Rita. The grants will help train skilled workers through world-class technology in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
According to the manufacturer, as a result of these grants 7,000 undergraduate and graduate college and university students will now have direct annual access to PLM software. It will help students and faculty conceive, design, engineer and validate projects using the same tools that today's global manufacturers employ.
