Sunshine Canyon Landfill Local Enforcement Agency

David S. Honda has been appointed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to the Sunshine Canyon Landfill Local Enforcement Agency. SCL-LEA is a recently created joint power authority (JPA) formed in part to adjudicate operating issues surrounding the controversial urban landfill at Sunshine Canyon as they arise, while overseeing ongoing permit applications by owner-operator Browning Ferris Industries.
Sunshine Canyon straddles a northern boundary of the City of Los Angeles and an unincorporated portion of Los Angeles County.
