Largest Valley meeting facilities: ranked by total square footage of meeting space
San Fernando Valley Business Journal, August 18, 2008 by Ari Morguelan
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Valley is anchored by five meeting facilities that have topped this list for two years in a row. The Hilton Universal, The Four Seasons / Westlake Village, California State University Northridge, The Marriott Burbank Airport & Convention Center and the Sheraton Universal. These five facilities combine for 221,197 square feet of space, offer 112 different rooms, and can handle everything from full-service conventions to banquets and small meetings. A perennial participant on this list, the Sportsmen's Lodge in Sherman Oaks, does not appear because they did not respond to multiple requests to provide information. In July it was reported that the new owner of the property, Richard Weintraub of Weintraub Financial Services was not renewing the current operator of the banquet and conference center's contract which expires in February. The adjacent hotel is undergoing extensive renovations.

It is close to the Gibson Amphitheatre, Hollywood Bowl, Kodak Theatre, AMC Universal, Universal City Walk and many others. The facility has earned a AAA Four-Diamond Award, a Meetings & Conventions Gold Key Award, a Smart Meetings Platinum Choice Award and a Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award.
