EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

SINCE the Business Journal's last Telecommunications List in 2005, there have been major changes for some companies and no changes for others.

SBC Communications Inc. acquired AT&T Corp. to form the new AT&T, Inc. as of November 2005 and TimeWarner Inc. and Comcast Corp. are reportedly close to their acquisition of Adelphia Communications in early 2006.

No. 1 on the list is the new AT&T with 3,750 employees located in the greater-Valley area, followed by Verizon (No. 2) with 500 employees and Time Warner (No. 3) with 450 employees.
