Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corp. announced that acting President and CEO David Sambol has been appointed to the company's board of directors. Sambol is a 22-year veteran of Countrywide and was appointed to the position of president and CEO in 2006. Sambol's current duties find him responsible for the oversight of all corporate operational and support units, in addition to his role as a member of Countrywide's executive committee.
Sambol has served in many key executive roles throughout his tenure with Countrywide, including stints as executive managing director of business segment operations and director of internal audits. Sambol is a certified public accountant and started his career with the firm of Ernst & Whitney.
