of accounting professionals included non-certified professional
staff such as bookkeepers and staff accountants. The definition
of consulting professionals includes such positions as business
valuation consultants and litigation support.
Firms were ranked by the total number of employees in 2007. In the
case of a tie, firms were further ranked according to their total
number of CPAs in 2007. National/international CPA firms were
required to provide data for their Valley office(s) only in order
to be ranked, and those that did were ranked by their Valley-only
data, not by company-wide data.
