Valley meeting facilities: ranked by total square footage of meeting space

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

MANY of the meeting facilities on this year's list have been renovated in the past year or currently have a re-do in progress.

Among the facilities that have or are undergoing a facelift: California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City Hotel, The Sportsmen's Lodge, Woodbury University, Hilton Los Angeles North/Glendale, Beverly Garland Holiday Inn, Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel, Westlake Village Inn, Hyatt Valencia Hotel, Grand Vista Hotel, Best Western Posada Royale Hotel, Thousand Oaks Inn, Hilton Garden Inn Valencia, and the Desert Inn.

The top three on this year's list of largest meeting facilities include: Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention Center, which maintained the No. 1 spot with 50,000 total square feet of meeting facility space; CSUN at No. 2 with 41,702 total square feet of meeting facility space; and Hilton Los Angeles/ Universal City Hotel came into the No. 3 spot with 30,000 total square feet of meeting space.

THE PACESETTER

MARRIOTT BURBANK AIRPORT HOTEL AND CONVENTION CENTER

AT the top of the list, Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention Center maintains its position as No. 1 with 50,000 square feet of total meeting facility space.

The center has a total of 28 rooms. The largest room is its Academy Ballroom at 15,015 square feet, which can host events of up to 2,000 guests.

The meeting facilities have hosted a range of events from weddings to conventions. The convention center in the past has hosted sci-fi themed events such as the Xena and Farscape Convention as well as the World Championships of the Performing Arts, a competition for young adults.

The hotel late in the year was acquired by Pyramid and its name was changed to Burbank Marriott Airport and Convention Center.
