TSUNAMI RELIEF: Several pulp and paper industry and allied businesses have announced assistance to support the relief efforts in Southeast Asia following the devastating earthquake and tsunami of December 26, 2004:

* Almatis, Frankfurt, Germany has donated EUR 25,000 Euro (US$ 33,175) to United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

* The Bayer Group, Leverkusen, Germany has donated EUR 10 million (US$ 13 million) in cash and medicine.

* The Plum-Creek Foundation, Seattle, Washington, USA has donated US$ 75,000-US$ 50,000 to CARE, and US$ 25,000 to the Northwest Medical Teams Disaster Relief Fund.

* Weyerhaeuser Co., Federal Way, Washington, USA has donated US$ 100,000 to CARE's Asia Quake Disaster fund. The foundation will match up to...
