At the centre of Sandra Markus's book stands the autobiographical text of entrepreneurs, not the enterprise. The book offers no exploration of the role of entrepreneurs' memoirs for the success or the failure of their enterprises, but of the structure and rhetoric of their autobiographical writings. Therefore, the autobiographies of four business leaders published between 1948 and 1996 are exhaustively analysed in detailed studies.
