State board pays Novell in 'engineer' title suit.(Brief Article)

The Nevada Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors has agreed to settle a lawsuit by Novell Inc. asserting the company's right to confer the title Certified Novell Engineer (previously Certified NetWare Engineer) on computer networking specialists who demonstrate proficiency with Novell software.
Novell, a provider of directory-enabled networking software and services, filed suit against the Board in response to the Board's threats to impose fines of $5,000 on people using Novell's certification titles who were not registered with the Board as professional engineers.
