A recent trade show found me accompanying an IIE Solutions advertising sales representative to learn about evolving technology. One small booth we stopped at was attended by the company's owner and his associate. Obviously, they were exhibiting their products with the intention of generating sales.
We chatted pleasantly for a few minutes. When the sales rep addressed one of his observations to the company owner by saying "As salesmen, you and I ...," the owner exploded. "I am not a salesman!" he blurted with great indignation. "I have a Ph.D. and am a university faculty member!"
