Cost reduction a top concern in auto industry.(Brief Article)

Cost reduction remains the top challenge to the automobile industry, according to a survey of automotive engineers and designers sponsored jointly by DuPont Automotive and the Society of Automotive Engineers. Fifty percent of auto engineers and designers cited cost reduction as the industry's biggest concern, which is up 19 percent from the results recorded by the annual survey last year.
"The focus on cost reduction has reached its highest level in the last six years," said Walter Fields, vice president, DuPont Automotive Engineering Materials.
