William W. George, chairman of medical technology company Medtronic Inc., will establish a $1 million endowment to the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The new William W. George Professorship in Health Systems will allow the school to hire a full-time faculty member who will be tasked with advancing the health systems graduate program and guiding the program's future.
In order to receive the full sum of the pledge, Georgia Tech and the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering must raise an additional $750,000 to complete funding for a second faculty position in health systems.
