Glibreth film finds home at Smithsonian. (News).(Frank B. and Lillian Gilbreth film)(Brief Article)

IIE Solutions, May, 2002

James Perkins, friend and chronicler of renowned industrial engineering pioneers Frank and Lillian Gilbreth, has donated to the Smithsonian Institute a film he created with Ralph Barnes and Lillian Gilbreth. Titled The Quest for the One Best Way: The Films of Frank B. Gilbreth, the film is a montage of clips from the Gilbreths' motion studies and family films.

It is the only surviving footage of the Gilbreths' work. Perkins could not be reached for comment due to ill health, but according to a report in the Gilbreth Network newsletter "The Quest," Perkins hopes the film will be distributed to schools and universities to increase student awareness of the Gilbreths' work.
