It's not just his 6-foot-6-inch profile that makes Joseph Hartman stand out in a crowd. Hartman was honored with one of IIE's prestigious accolades when he accepted an Outstanding Young IE Award in May.

"It is truly an honor to be recognized by my peers for what I have accomplished thus far in my career. Hopefully, this is only a sign of things to come with respect to my contributions to the IE profession," said Hartman, an assistant professor at Lehigh University whose work is a blend of operations research, logistics, and engineering economics.
