Chain Drug Review, August 18, 2003

ETREMA Products Inc. has launched Whispering Windows, a novel retail tool that can turn any pane of glass or any other smooth surface into an audio speaker. The unique technology uses what the company calls an advanced "smart metal" that attaches to a smooth surface, allowing that surface to deliver smooth, consistent sound. Digi International has launched Wavespeed/S wireless serial adapter to wirelessly connect peripheral point-of-sale devices. The device, which uses Bluetooth 7 technology, is said to be the first of its kind suitable for mission-critical applications. WaverlyStreet Software has released version 1.1 of Purchase Order, a Windows-based software package for writing purchase orders.

The program lets users build a database of the items they normally buy.
