NEW YORK -- Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Faith Hill has been signed by Coty Inc. to develop and market her own fragrance.

The yet-to-be named scent will capture Hill's natural beauty, warmth and strength, according to a Coty spokeswoman.

The partnership marks the first fragrance venture for the singer, who has sold more than 30 million albums.

"Faith Hill defines all-American beauty," says Coty chief executive officer Bernd Beetz.

"Her ability to juggle a widely successful career and family while embodying grace, glamour and style is an inspiration to women. We are very excited about this fragrance collaboration and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership."

"I had no idea of how exciting and creative it would be to work not only with a great company like Coty, but with some of the leading perfumers in the world," remarks Hill. "In one respect, putting out a fragrance is like releasing a new album--we just hope that everyone will enjoy it."

Tentatively set to launch in fall/winter 2009, the new fragrance will be widely distributed in major retailers across North America. Marketing plans are in development.

In other news at Coty, the company's beauty division has taken over United States distribution of Puig Beauty & Fashion Group's Antonio Banderas fragrance.

Coty already distributes a number of prestige brands for Puig in the U.S. and Canada, including Prada, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera and Paco Rabanne.

"The new synergy between Coty Beauty and Puig provides a unique opportunity to grow both our portfolios simultaneously," says Beetz. "We look forward to leveraging our leadership in the beauty industry to foster growth of the Antonio Banderas franchise and other Puig fragrances."
