Chain Drug Review, Jan 5, 2009

WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- Black Friday started early at CVS Caremark Corp. when the chain unveiled a weeklong holiday promotion offering a wide variety of doorbuster deals on gifts, affordable electronics, seasonal decor items and daily essentials.

From Sunday, November 23 through Saturday, November 29 customers could use their ExtraCare cards to reap savings and rewards on gifts, holiday purchases and everyday needs.

"As we move into an incredibly busy time of year, we want to give our customers an opportunity to shop for holiday values earlier than ever before," said senior vice president of merchandising Mike Bloom. "Knowing that our customers are looking to save both time and money, CVS/ pharmacy offers one-stop holiday shopping for a variety of great gifts you would never expect to find at your local drug store."
