King Pharmaceuticals Inc. has entered into an agreement with Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc. to develop painkillers using the latter's Aversion technology. King will make an up-front cash payment to Acura of $30 million. King could be responsible for $28 million in additional payments to Acura pending achievement of certain milestones.
