Luxury is at center of concept

Chain Drug Review, Nov 24, 2008

ORLEANS, Ontario -- The mauve Murale logo and the muted, pastel shades of the store's interior, coupled with subtle lighting effects, were deliberately selected to offer the customer a sensory experience very different from the clinical feel of Shoppers Drug Mart outlets and other chain drug stores.

The design was created by the team of Diego Burdi and Paul Filek of Burdifilek. They appear to have achieved their aim of providing "a luxurious and interactive atmosphere."

Kirsten Gautier and her team at the Production Kitchen Inc., with assistance from illustrator/designer Lauren Tamaki, helped develop the brand from a design perspective. Even the background music in the stores is custom-tailored to suit the ambience. Vancouver music designer Gregory Tait, of musicstyllng.com, was commissioned to assemble a unique compilation that would complement Murale's ultra-luxurious ambience.

The sophisticated uniforms of Murale's diverse team of professionals were designed by Vania Peruzza, head of development at Red Canoe-National Heritage Brands, and Oliver Capistrano, a Canada-born fashion designer and creative consultant.
