Are CEOs overpaid?(EDITOR'S NOTE)

Arecent Associated Press story breathlessly points out that the boss's pay has moved up into the heights of professional athletes and movie stars. This is not an original insight, but let it pass. But one wonders, why do people pay upwards of two grand to attend an HSM concert, oops, sorry, conference at Radio City in order to see folks like Jack Welch or Terry Semel walk back and forth on an empty stage holding forth on the management philosophe du jour?
