President Barack Obama awoke to unexpected news on October 9: He had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee in Oslo, Norway, said that it had chosen Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy," and his goal to eliminate nuclear weapons. But some people, including Obama, question whether he has yet accomplished enough to deserve the prestigious prize. "I am both surprised and deeply humbled," Obama said, adding, "I will accept this award as a call to action."
