* Salon product sales rose 4.2% to $3.69 billion for 2007, according to a new study from Professional Consultants & Resources. The 2007 Professional Salon Industry Study reveals that the gain is slightly better than 2006, when the industry experienced its lowest growth in decades.

Some key findings include the booth rental phenomenon at Sally Beauty stores and exclusive lines at Beauty Systems Group (BSG). Mega salon stores like Ulta are still a high growth sector and now account for 13.5% of all salon industry product sales, according to the study. Brands like Aveda have also posted positive sales directly to salons in the past year. More info: www.proconsultants.us
