L'Oreal's Anti-Cellulite Roll-on

Household & Personal Products Industry, July, 2006 by Colin Hession

Turning to products--which is really what we're all about--we would like to draw packaging folks' attention to the latest development from L'Oreal in Europe, the Garnier mass division's latest anti-cellulite product, BodyTonic Anti-Cellulite Rollerball.

This is all about spreading Garnier's new caffeine-based formula--good old coffee to you and me?--all over bloated thighs. But it seems that the scientific literature says that massaging is an essential part of the process, so L'Oreal has come up with a really elegant solution, a roll-on packaging format which not only dispenses product exactly where it's needed, but massages at the same time. "Visible results" are claimed within eight days.

Key learning point: when selling packaging, think outside the square!
