Based on Intel processors and Windows NT, two new workstations from Silicon Graphics Inc. are targeting a broad range of applications. For example: CAD/CAM, simulation-based acquisition and scientific analysis, and Internet Web site development. Model 320, starting at $3,395, can be configured with up to two Intel Pentium II 450 MHz processors and up to 1 GB of ECC (error correcting code) synchronous DRAM memory.

Model 540, starting at $5,995, can be configured with up to four Pentium II Xeon 450 MHz processors with 512 KB, 1MB, or 2MB of L2 cache and up to 2GB of ECC DRAM memory.
