Redmond, Wash.-bosed Microsoft Corp. (IW1000 No. 82) has named Rick Belluzzo president and chief operating officer after announcing current COO Bob Herbold's decision to retire. Prior to joining Microsoft in September 1999, Belluzzo was CEO of Silicon Graphics Inc. and, before thot, was the executive vice president of Hewlett-Packard Co. (IW1000 No. 27) * Nokia Corp. (IW 1000 No. 79), the world's largest mobile-phone maker, plans to shift some of its mobile-phone manufacturing from its North Texas plants to South Korea end Mexico.
