Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc., Winston-Salem, N.C., has developed a new conveyor oven and glazing system that it expects will substantially increase the number of stores able to feature its "hot donuts now" experience.
The new hot donut machine closely resembles the company's current production equipment. However, it is designed to finish cooking and glazing donuts that have been partially prepared at a factory store and delivered to a point of sale. The projected output is a hot donut virtually identical to that sold in Krispy Kreme's traditional factory stores, according to the company.
