LaCrosse merges with Danner Shoe. (LaCrosse Footwear Inc.; Danner Shoe Manufacturing Co.)

LaCrosse Footwear Inc has merged with Danner Shoe Manufacturing Co. The combined companies expect to reach about $100 million in sales for 1994 while their combined workforce of 1,600 employees makes them one of the largest footwear manufacturers in the US. The merger plan will make Danner into one of LaCrosse's divisions and will increase the former's capital. Both companies will tie up their retail networks to boost their respective product distribution. A single sales team will be tasked to market combined product lines although manufacturing and marketing operations will remain separate.
