R. Griggs Group Ltd has opened a retail unit in Covent Garden, London, that is designed to be a model for future stores and to act as a showcase for the company's Dr. Martens brand of footwear products. Griggs hopes to open additional stores in Europe, the US and the Far East. The 8,000 sq ft Covent Garden unit represents an investment of about $12.56 million, and Dr. Martens manufacturer AirWair Ltd hopes it will establish the brand as more than just a fad.
