Adidas Adventure asks 'how far will you go?' (Adidas executive David Pompel explains the company's marketing approach for their outdoor collection)

Adidas is actively marketing their Adventure collection of outdoor shoes as athletics shoes. Adidas Adventure's international business unit manager David Pompel states the company's main market is to athletes, but outdoor activities are athletic and draw many of the same customers. Adidas is focusing on running hiking shoes for fall 1995, sandals and canvas shoes for spring. Pompel says the company is aiming at customers who currently are involved in outdoor activities but do not yet own outdoor footwear.
