George Newman of George Newman and Co. bought Endicott Johnson Corp from Millennium Chemicals Inc and plans to rebuild the Father & Son shoe store chain acquired with Endicott. Newman hopes to strengthen Father & Son's core markets and then expand the 75-store chain into other regions. Father & Son is a $50 million company.

NEW YORK -- At the end of a shaky year, Endicott Johnson Corp., the Johnson, N.Y.,-based company that operates the Father & Son retail shoe chain, has a new owner and is braced to expand its role in the footwear market again.
