LEGENDARY STATUS: NINA HONORS THE CREATIVE GENIUS OF ROGER VIVIER.

A well-heeled crowd of fashion insiders converged on the Nina Footwear showroom in New York on Dec. 8 to celebrate the life and work of the late footwear designer Roger Vivier.

"I think it's wonderful homage...I see him here," designer Andrea Pfister remarked. Designed by James Aguiar, associate creative director for Bergdorf Goodman, New York, the exhibition featured Vivier's shoe designs from the '50s through the '90s.

Included in the show were Vivier's original sketches, shoe collages, and a pillar of quotations from fashion luminaries such as designers Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Louboutin, as well as from Vivier himself.

Gerard Benoite-Vivier, the late designer's brother, and a slew of fashionistas from nearly every era...
