The structural harmony of these villas, with their neoclassical lines and vibrant frescoes, is an ever-present influence on the shoe designer, who is renowned for his embroideries and inlays. In 1936, Caovilla's father, Edoardo, founded the family business, which Rene has since built into a $10 million operation.
