In an continuing effort to build a strong stable of retail shoe brands, Dayton, Ohio-based Shoebilee Retail Group recently purchased the Butler Group for an undisclosed amount. The Butler Group, based in Atlanta, owns a majority interest of SLJ Retail, which operates approximately 61 Sam & Libby shoe stores in regional malls through a license with Maxwell Shoe Co, Hyde Park, Mass.
According to Chief Financial Officer Ervin Matthews, The Butler Group will operate as a separate business, and SRG will maintain offices in both Atlanta and Dayton, Ohio.
