LOS ANGELES -- In an attempt to hit the ground running, newcomer National Geographic Footwear recently announced a partnership with footwear company K-Swiss.
The brand, which was previously designed and manufactured by Lighthouse Point, Fla.,-based Rugged Shark, will now welcome K-Swiss as its sole manufacturer and worldwide distributor of the outdoor brand.
Rugged Shark will stay on with National Geographic as the company's designers of high-end outdoor men's, women's and children's outdoor and rugged exploration footwear.
Dennis Walker, the new acting president of National Geographic footwear, said the company does not see this merger as a setback to shipments and distribution.
