Footwear News, October, 2001 by Schneider-Levy, Barbara
Israeli shoe manufacturer Onyx Footwear Industries, located outside Tel Aviv and producer of the BeautiFeel brand of comfort footwear, is aiming high.
The company founder, Ami Bar-Nahor, has aggressive expansion plans for the brand in the United States. He recently formed an American subsidiary named Beautifeel-usa, based in Chatsworth, Calif., and took a new look at the styling and technology behind the line.
After distributor The Walking Co. exited the wholesale business last year, Onyx regained U.S. distribution rights to the brand, opening the door for Bar-Nahor to put a fresh spin on the decade-old brand that has been known for signature pumps and sandals available in a range of sizes and widths.
