NEW YORK -- As Finish Line's new president, Glenn Lyon is nothing if not competitive.

Last week, when Lyon received word that Foot Locker had jumped to launch Adidas' latest Tracy McGrady shoe, the T-Mac3, four days before its official release date of Nov. 1, he immediately went to work.

"We just can't be noncompetitive," he said on Wednesday. "We put voice messages and e-mails out to all the stores in the last hour to set up the stores. They were all ready to do it on Saturday, so it can happen very quickly."
