NEW YORK -- Skechers USA Inc. is getting dressed.

The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear company last week signed a licensing agreement with Los Angeles-based apparel manufacturer Paul Davril Inc. to launch a line of women's and men's sportswear in time for spring '05 selling.

"We began licensing two years ago, and Skechers sportswear was always something that was top of mind," Faith Page Wall, vice president of licensing for the firm, told Footwear News. "PDI is a partner that really understands taking our vision for footwear into apparel."

Under the agreement, PDI, a licensee of such brands as Kenneth Cole and Ecko Red, will design, distribute and market men's and women's tops and bottoms in woven, denim, knit and leather fabrics....
