NEW YORK - R.G. Barry is ready to call its turnaround effort a success.
The beleaguered slipper company expected to finish 2005 in the black, marking the first time it would report a full-year profit since 2001. The company was also reinstated on the American Stock Exchange last month, another indication of its progress, said President and CEO Thomas Von Lehman in an interview with Footwear News.
"Last year at this time, we could see the light at the end of the tunnel," Von Lehman said. "[In 2005], we're out of the tunnel [and] in the light. We're feeling pretty bullish right now that the real turnaround is over and the focus is on growing the business."
