NEW YORK - The American Apparel & Footwear Association last week announced the retirement of Fawn Evenson, who has spent 32 years in the footwear industry as a lobbyist, government adviser and expert on globalization.
Evenson spent the majority of her career at Footwear Industries of America, where she worked her way up to the position of president. In 2000, the FIA and the American Apparel Manufacturers Association merged to create the American Apparel & Footwear Association. Evenson served as president of AAFA's footwear division and VP of global initiatives.
"Fawn has made a lot of contributions to the industry," said Kevin Burke, AAFA president and CEO. "We're going to miss her."
