Asics Files Two Lawsuits Involving Target Corp.
Irvine, Calif.-based Asics America Corp. and Kobe, Japan-based Asics Corp. Japan have filed two lawsuits to prevent future sales and distribution of shoes with a stripe design that, they allege, resembles that of the signature Asics stripes. The first lawsuit, according to a Nov. 21 press release, is against Minneapolis-based Target Corp. and Santa Monica, Calif.-based Mossimo Inc. The second is against Target, San Francisco-based Blue Marlin Corp. and Rome-based Roma Atletica Srl Unipersonale. Both are for trademark infringement, unfair competition, trademark dilution and false advertising.
